This isn't a quilt really --- it's a photomontage of all 100 paintings that I did in my daily painting project in 2012 (some of which were rectangular, so they've been cropped to fit in the square format here). I always knew the later ones were better than the first ones, but I didn't grasp what this montage so clearly shows: the improved treatment of light and contrast as the project progressed. I didn't consciously set out to improve either of these, but the daily post-painting introspection and self-critique just led in that direction. The montage also tells me that I like the color blue --- or at least that I tend to pick subjects with a lot of blue in them (skies and water!). What a cool "visual aid"!
Wow- this is a beautiful work of art. Yes, it would look nice in a frame, especially with a Blue Ribbon hanging from it.
