View from the Train

Tonight another watercolor - from a photo taken on our trip across the West on the Sunset Limited. This is #15 for the 30-in-30 challenge (5"x7").

Ruth's Bio of the Moment

After practicing law for over twenty years, Ruth has been working art back into her life (or her life back into art), rekindling the artistic spirit of childhood — when she stacked every horizontal surface of her family's house with her drawings and paintings, and her favorite Christmas present each year was her own package of typing paper for drawing.

Ruth refined her early efforts by pursuing an BFA in printmaking from the University of Michigan, and an MFA from the University of Illinois, also in printmaking, before heading to law school and a career in law.

Returning to etching, letterpress printing, woodcut and linocut printing in the mid-2000s, Ruth has focused more recently on watercolor and oil painting. Her goal is to develop a joyful and productive adventure in art.
