At the Bath

This is #3 for the 30-in-30 Challenge.  It is another one that I began before January 1 for a show and finished today, but all of those paintings are now done so I have no reason not to get to work tomorrow on a new daily painting!  This is from a photo of a couple of visitors to our backyard fountain from a couple of summers ago.  I have painted sparrows a number of times, and feel that their simple beauty is often overlooked because they are so common. It reminds me of something a friend's dad said when I was a young girl -- he pointed out that if bluejays were rare everyone would love them instead of complaining about them. After that I never looked at a bluejay without appreciating its beauty.
