Glide Path

This is painting #2 for the 30-in-30 challenge, and again it is one that I began a few days ago and just finished today.  It is 16x16".  The reason I'm posting paintings that I'm finishing up, instead of ones I started the same day, is that I am trying to finish up six paintings for a show that will be hung next week, so any painting time must be devoted to those.  I'm hoping to be done with all of them tomorrow so I can start on actual daily paintings!  This painting is in oil, although I love the image so much I have also painted it in watercolor.  The source photo was taken near the shrimp boat docks in Galveston.  I was enchanted by the beautiful pelican gliding past the picturesquely-run down surroundings.  (If the image seems to be tilted slightly to the left, it is again operator error.)
