Winter Sunshine
This is #15 in the 30-in-30 challenge. As with two recent ones, it is inspired by a photo from my childhood. This is my mother and my paternal grandmother, basking in the sunshine in Samoset, Florida, in December 1965. I was four years old at the time, and have no memory of it. But I love the look of utter relaxation in this scene. Seems like people don't just go outside and sit much anymore . . . there always has to be something to do - drink, eat, listen to music, play a game. I would like to feel that life is so slowed down that I could just go outside and sit with people for no purpose. But I would probably need to schedule it! 6x6" -- please click for a larger view.
